Leprecon Introduces New APC Star Hub to APC Series Wall Station System

Leprecon's APC Star Hub

First introduced at InfoComm 2017, Leprecon announces that the new APC Star Hub is now available and shipping. The APC Star Hub offers another option for providing integrated power and data distribution for the APC-DMX controlled wall stations. The original APC Hub provides power and data distribution for a single daisy-chained panel system. The new APC Star Hub includes an internal RDM capable DMX splitter supporting up to four wired sets of APC panels wired in a star configuration.

The APC Star Hub makes it easier than ever to design, install, and wire APC wall stations to integrate architectural and theatrical lighting control in a single DMX-based system. The APC Star Hub powers up to 20 APC panels, and maintains RDM compatibility from the console to the system fixtures.

Standard five-pin XLR connectors are used for DMX in and out, and four Neutrik etherCON-compatible RJ45 connectors are used for connecting to the preset style APC wall stations. Options for the new APC Star Hub include a Decelerator version for optimized timing that works well with low cost "DMX Challenged" LED fixtures, three-pin XLR models, and DMX pluggable terminal strip.

The APC wall stations include preset playback stations available with one, three, six, or 12 presets plus an "Off" button, all with programmable timed fades. Standard Cat5 type cable and RJ45 connectors are used to interconnect the panels in a system. Preset panels are automatically "locked out" when DMX is detected from the lighting console, or any of the panels can be used as a stand-alone DMX controller.
