Void Acoustics to Launch Incubus Club System at Prolight + Sound

The Air Array

Void Acoustics, designer and manufacturer of professional audio systems for the installed and live sound markets, launches a new sound system at Prolight + Sound 2012, March 21-24, at Frankfurt Musikmesse, in Hall 8.0, Stand A56.

The five-way Incubus Club System unites the highest levels of performance ever achieved with the biggest leap in style consciousness since the invention of the loudspeaker, the company says.

The Incubus system incorporates the Air Array, Hyperfold, and Incubus subs.

The Air Array is the mid-high element of the club system delivering high-level, high-fidelity sound. The low mid-section of the Air Array consists of two hyperbolic horns fed from a split manifold driven from four 12'' transducers. Each 12" transducer also features a heat-sinking system to reinforce reliability and reduce power compression levels. Four devices that use a newly developed 3" exit compression driver handle the midrange frequencies. These devices make use of a 6" diaphragm to comfortably reproduce frequencies down to 500Hz with very low distortion levels. While the high frequency section is derived from six 35mm diaphragm, 1" compression drivers delivering frequencies above and beyond the normal scope of hearing, the company says.

The hyperfold 4 x 15'' upper bass enclosure is derived from the Void pyramid horn system. Originally incorporated for the Para flex 640 system, this new configuration radically increases the bass intensity to an unprecedented level, the company says.

Incubus subs sonically challenging design consists of three 21" transducers in a hybrid horn band-pass enclosure. A combined power handling of 6,000W rms and a very high sensitivity result in foundation cracking sub all the way down to 30Hz, shared the company.
