Intelligent Lighting Creations Expands the Team

Top row: Garrick Shanley and Elizabeth Patterson; bottom row: Katie Slater and Mitch Weisbrod

Over the past two months, Intelligent Lighting Creations (ILC)has added some exceptional individuals. The company says "it is a top priority at ILC to match the right talent with the right customers." In adding some new partners to the team, ILC reports "the company continues to meet and exceed our goals of managing the customers' expectations."

Garrick Shanley has been added as director of operations. Shanley comes to the entertainment industry after 20 years of operations management in both manufacturing and warehouse industries. Starting his career at R&L Spring Company, he then learned about large warehouse operations at Follett Library Resources. Finally, Shanley arrived at ILC from Spring Engineers of Houston. He says he is excited about the opportunity to use the quality system and continuous improvement tools from these industries as a method to contribute to ILC's continued success in his role as the director of operations.

Elizabeth Patterson is the new lead project manager. Patterson has been working professionally in theatrical lighting for over a decade. After graduating from The Theatre School at DePaul University, she started freelancing in theatres all around the Chicagoland area -- the Goodman Theatre being one of her favorites. Joining ILC's crew, Patterson started as Matt Pearlman's assistant and has helped to make productions and orders go smoother. Having a great love of drafting, Patterson started rebuilding ILC's Vectorworks library in her spare time. She soon became the champion of all things drafting related at ILC. In her new position as lead project manager, Patterson will be able to help maintain the quality of work on which ILC reports customers have come to love and depend. She is very excited to be working with everyone in a new capacity and is eager to jump into new projects.

Mitch Weisbrod has been promoted to production project manager. Weisbrod is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but is most recently from Southern Oregon, where he spent the last five years as a freelancer before moving to Chicago in July of 2015. As a technician, Weisbrod specializes in lighting and video systems, but also excels at audio, rigging for both theaters and arenas, and design. He began at ILC in September of 2015 working in operations. After a few months, he was given the opportunity to move up to production management where Weisbrod oversees the smooth implementation of lighting systems as well as the execution of design plans for ILC's installations and events.

Katie Slater has been added as sales support representative. Slater is a born and raised Texan who made her way to California after college to work in the entertainment industry. Slater spent 10 years in Los Angeles working in production on several reality television shows. She has since re-located to the Chicago area with her husband. Four things that make up Slater: muti-tasker, detail oriented, enthusiastic, and outgoing. She is supporting the sales team and working with customers on quotes, order processing, and sales support.
