EAW to Unveil New Product Ranges at PLASA2011

EAW will unveil several product ranges to the UK market at this year's PLASA Show (Earls Court, London, September 11-14). The new VF passive series consists of five models of VFR two-way full-range loudspeakers - two VFS subwoofers and three VSM stage monitors. This range represents a new approach to the needs of professional audio from EAW; combining a hybrid of portable and install features in one package.

VF products were engineered with a robust design, including uncompromised sound quality for multiple applications with clean blended lines, rigging, and transformer options -- features requested in an installation product, the company says. Extremely versatile, these new units offer outstanding sound quality and power for value, and the boxes feature a clean, consistent design with an elegant style, the company adds. The VF Series is intended for both portable and install applications and environments, including auditoriums, theatres, nightclubs and DJ setups, bars, music performances, houses of worship, mobile churches, etc.

New SBK Series subwoofers will also debut. Designed to perfectly complement EAW's MK Series full-range loudspeakers in construction, size, and sound, they can also be used as stand-alone subwoofers in a system from any other EAW model.

The SBK line includes three models: SBK150 (single 15"), SBK180 (single 18") and SBK250 (double 15") subwoofers, all three units operating in passive mode. Applications can include concert halls, houses of worship, arenas, large ballrooms, live theatre, gymnasiums, and more.

Adding to the MicroWedge series of stage monitors, EAW announces the new MicroWedge8 (MW8) and MicroWedge10 (MW10). These are a small-format continuation of the MW line. Although occupying an even smaller footprint than the already compact MW12 and MW15, the MW8 and MW10 offer volume levels and voicing that rival full-size industry-standard 12" and 15" monitors from other manufacturers. The MW8 and MW10 are suitable for applications that demand the high level of performance, audio quality, inherent feedback stability, smooth coverage and ergonomic design of the MW12 and MW15 without the need for MW12/MW15's levels of power-handling and size; they are designed for mid-to-high-volume rock/alternative performers, houses of worship, theatres, edge of stage fills, corporate shows/events, and presenters. They are also a perfect tool for front-of-house or monitor engineers looking for a live monitoring option on the console meter bridge, the company says.

QX Series loudspeakers will also be exhibited. Optimized for installed system applications that require precise directivity in a powerful low-profile form, the QX Series provides size-efficient yet very high output point source clusters. QX is particularly geared toward medium-to-large-sized spaces including sports arenas but is also designed for a wide range of other venues requiring high power and consistent coverage in a compact housing, including houses of worship, outdoor stadiums, performing arts venues, theatres and clubs.
