d&b audiotechnik to Host Popular Electroacoustics Seminar at ABTT 2017, London

On Wednesday, June 7, d&b audiotechnik will be presenting its time honored Electroacoustics seminar at the ABTT Theatre Show, at London's iconic Alexandra Palace. The free to attend education event is ideal for anyone wanting to know more about how loudspeakers interact with their environment and how that affects what the listener hears. Plus, anyone who registers will automatically receive free admission to the exhibition floor, a unique environment in which to meet industry professionals and see what's new in theatre technology.

With the scheduled seminars at d&b GB's Gloucestershire base often booked up, it's a great opportunity to take part this year and a natural stepping stone to d&b's more product focused workshops.

The seminar has played a central role in the international d&b education calendar, and is for anyone looking to better understand the principles of electroacoustics for sound system design and engineering. Now something of an industry standard, the session is suited to all levels of experience, and asks questions such as: how does sound propagate? And how do sound waves combine? In typical d&b style, the friendly approach will provide informative answers in a lighthearted way, with plenty of practical experiments and demonstrations.

"I'd argue this seminar is the most important thing d&b does in terms of its education and training program," says presenter Oran Burns. "It goes back to the absolute basics. We know some sound engineers out there go about their work, and whether out of repetition or experience they understand a certain action gets a certain result, but sometimes without fully understanding why. That's why getting to grips with the principles of electroacoustics is so important, because it explains the underlying mechanics of what's going on in any scenario. In terms of sound system design and engineering these are our building blocks, for quite literally everything we do -- without them nothing else makes much sense."

To allow time for visiting the show, the session will begin at 11:00am and finish at 4:00pm with a one hour break for lunch. Spaces are limited so book soon. To register, please visit the URL below, and click on Electroacoustics seminar.
