LDR to Launch Oscura, New Dimming Shutter, at Prolight + Sound

Following the success of the Xpress color scroller, the Italian lighting manufacturer LDR will introduce the Oscura 19 a new lighting accessory at the forthcoming Prolight + Sound.

Oscura 19 is a DMX512- and RDM-controllable motorized dimming shutter, designed to provide a smooth control of light intensity on all the non-dimmable discharge fixtures. It features an extremely quiet and precise operation and ensures no alterations of the color temperature, the company says.

Oscura 19 is the first in line of a generation of mechanical dimming shutter specially designed for the professional theatre and the TV.

With only 5.5lbs and offering less than 28db the Oscura also offer an user friendly interface, the company says.

Oscura can be used with the LDR professional discharge range and with all those products that have an aperture of up to Ø 190mm.

"I'm very happy with the results," says Fabiano Besio, of LDR. "Finally, you can dim any type of discharge source smoothly, homogeneously without altering the color exactly the same as you can do with any Tungsten halogen source."

LDR's products are distributed in the US by Strong Entertainment Lighting.
