Shure Introduces GLX-D, BLX, Channel IQ Partnership

At the 2013 NAMM Show last week, Shure introduced GLX-D Wireless Systems, BLX Wireless Systems, and a new partnership with Channel IQ.

GLX-D Wireless Systems combine revolutionary Automatic Frequency Management technology with best-in-class intelligent lithium-ion battery rechargeability, world-renowned microphones, and unparalleled construction. Designed for singers, musicians, presenters, and more, GLX-D defines the newest standard for seamless ease of operation and exceptional digital audio clarity. The systems come in a wide offering of traditional bodypack and handheld configurations, including vocal, headset, and presenter systems, as well as a new pedal-mounted guitar option. Ideal for guitarists and exclusive to GLX-D, the Guitar Pedal Receiver features an integrated tuner, easily integrates into any pedal board, and offers tank-like durability.

The new BLX Wireless Systems come in a variety of receiver options, including a half-rack size for installed applications. BLX systems perform right out of the box, a direct solution for individuals who want the benefits of wireless systems without the setup obstacles. With the BLX series, it's now easier than ever to unplug from wired microphones, achieve uncompromised high quality sound, and enjoy freedom of movement on stage. For complex environments, RF interference can be avoided with Shure's one-touch QuickScan frequency scanning feature, which quickly locates the best open frequency channel.

"BLX is about making great performance available to everyone. The audio in BLX is engineered to match the tailored, refined sound of Shure's high-end analog wireless systems, and it includes significant improvements in wireless stability," says Erik Vaveris, category director for wireless products at Shure. "BLX also offers a choice in receiver form factors. The lightweight and ultraportable BLX4 and BLX88 are perfect for musicians on the go. The BLX4R uses Shure's durable half-rack chassis with removable antennas and includes everything you need to install it in an equipment rack."

BLX Wireless Systems deliver a performance range of up to 300', with up to 14 hours of battery life from two AA batteries. Systems are available in a wide offering of body-pack and handheld configurations with multiple handheld, lavalier, instrument, and headset microphone choices.
