WorxAudio Technologies Announces XL1 Line Array Loudspeaker

WorxAudio XL1 Line Array Loudspeaker

WorxAudio Technologies, a division of PreSonus Audio Electronics, introduces the newest addition to the TrueLine family of line array loudspeaker systems: the XL1. Designed as an ultra-compact high performance system for the reproduction of speech and music program material, the new XL1 is available in both touring and install versions -- both powered and passive -- making it an exceptional choice for a wide range of SR (sound reinforcement) applications.

The new WorxAudio XL1 is a two-way, high efficiency, line array loudspeaker that incorporates a large format 1.4" exit compression driver coupled to a stabilized proprietary FlatWave Former that delivers clear, penetrating high frequencies over a predictable and controlled coverage area. Dual 8" cone transducers coupled to the (A.I.M.) Acoustic Integrating Module minimize cone filtering throughout the entire operating range.

Powered versions of the WorxAudio XL1 incorporate WorxAudio's new PDA-1000 power amplifier with integrated DSP, Dante audio networking capability, and WorxControl (a loudspeaker management system). The PDA-1000 is a two-channel, Class D power amp with 500W per channel and includes XLR Input, and XLR pass thru. With integrated Dante audio networking capability, powered XL1 versions offer a no hassle, self-configuring, true plug and play digital audio networking experience. Key features of WorxControl include an 800ms alignment delay adjustable in 0.1ms increments so operators can perfectly align delay systems, center fills, and more. There's also a limiter with fully variable threshold that enables one to control dynamics without a mixer or an output processor as well as a compressor with fully variable attack, release, threshold, ratio, and make-up gain. The amplifier can be protected from outdoor elements with the optionally available rain shield.

Central to the XL1's performance attributes is its 160-degree horizontal dispersion pattern -- a characteristic that WorxAudio line array systems are known for. The unusually broad horizontal dispersion capabilities of the XL1 help ensure even coverage throughout the listening environment. The company says, combined with world-class speech intelligibility and music reproduction characteristics that help ensure clear, natural sound quality, the new XL1 delivers exceptional audio performance that must be experienced to be appreciated.

Exceptional build quality is yet another leading factor that makes the new XL1 a great choice. The XL1 features a sturdy multi-ply plywood enclosure, with a multi-layered catalyzed polyurethane finish. Further, a perforated, powder-coated steel grill with a high transmission ratio offers excellent protective properties. The custom designed flyware enables users to easily array the system to the precise desired coverage area. The XL1 is available in black or white colors.

Hugh Sarvis, managing director for the PreSonus / WorxAudio Loudspeaker division, commented on the company's new loudspeaker offering, "The XL1 excels in a myriad of diverse applications requiring a compact line array enclosure. Superior workmanship and transparent sonic quality make this loudspeaker system an exceptional tool for any sound reinforcement task. With versions for both AV integrators and touring professionals, the XL1 offers the performance, robust build quality, and a rich feature set that makes these loudspeakers an outstanding choice."

The WorxAudio XL1 Line Array is available now.
