Rise AV APAC Brings Mentoring Conversation to InfoComm AsiaFollowing the successful launch of its inaugural APAC Mentoring Program last month, the Rise AV APAC Regional Council will bring the conversation around mentoring to InfoComm Asia, hosting a fireside discussion focused on the role mentoring plays in developing talent, strengthening organizations, and supporting women across the AV industry. While the APAC program is still in its early stages, it builds on the established success of Rise AV's UK mentoring initiative, which has already demonstrated the measurable impact structured mentoring can deliver. In the UK program, 98% of mentees reported increased professional confidence, 90% felt better equipped to build and leverage professional relationships, and 90% said they felt part of a supportive professional community. In addition, 84% reported improved communication and presentation skills, 81% said they had strengthened their personal brand and professional presence, and 69% believe the program will accelerate their career progression, underlining the value mentoring can bring to both individuals and the wider industry. Rise AV APAC is grateful for the support of its global headline partner, QSC, whose commitment has enabled the expansion of the initiative into the Asia-Pacific region. The program is also supported by Silver Sponsors Lightware and ROE Visual, and Bronze Sponsor Absen, whose continued involvement helps drive professional development and positive change across the global AV industry. The APAC session will take place on July 16 at The GPA Lounge, and will be hosted by Peter Hunt, managing director, Hewshott and Rise AV APAC council chair. He will be joined by Sujith Sivaram, managing director, ESCO; Maureen Aw, senior AV manager, Marina Bay Sands; alongside Rise AV APAC mentees Jude Lam, regional sales manager at Brompton Technology, and Rachel Jacobs, senior architect at Munro Acoustics. The panel will explore real experiences of mentoring and how it supports women in AV to build confidence, develop skills, strengthen professional networks, and unlock new career opportunities. It will also examine the wider business case for mentoring, including its role in leadership development, employee engagement, retention, and building stronger, more inclusive organizations. Peter Hunt, managing director, Hewshott and Rise AV APAC Council Chair, says: "Mentoring has already shown in our UK program how powerful it can be in building confidence, capability and connection across the industry. Bringing the conversation to InfoComm Asia allows us to highlight what we are now seeing take shape in APAC: a real appetite for structured mentoring and a shared understanding that investing in people is essential to the long-term strength of our industry. This isn't just about supporting individuals, it's about building better businesses and a more sustainable future for AV." The inaugural Rise AV APAC Mentoring Program has brought together 31 mentors and 31 mentees from across the region, including participants from Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and India. Over the next six months, the cohort will take part in structured one-to-one mentoring, virtual networking sessions, and a blended program of professional development designed to support growth across all levels of the industry. Ahead of the fireside discussion, Rise AV APAC mentors, mentees, and members of the Regional Council will take part in an informal meet-and-greet from 2:00-2:30pm, providing an opportunity to connect in person and strengthen relationships within the growing APAC community. The panel discussion will follow from 2:30-3:00pm. Rise AV also extends its thanks to GPA for supporting the event and providing a platform at InfoComm Asia to amplify its mission across the region. The Rise AV APAC fireside chat is open to all InfoComm Asia attendees, including women seeking to develop their careers in AV, senior leaders interested in becoming mentors, and organizations looking to better understand the impact of mentoring on talent development and business performance.
