BTS to Present Webinar on Substance Use in the Workplace

Behind the Scenes reports that substance misuse has reached epidemic proportions in the industry. In a statement, the charity says. "If you haven't already, it's very likely you will encounter someone with this problem in your workplace. It could be anyone: a co-worker, a manager, someone who reports to you. "

This is the reason behind the webinar Dealing with Substance Use in the Workplace: Why and How We Help, taking place Monday, November 17 at 7pm EST. BTS says it will provide answers to some of these questions and help prepare you to respond to this situation. Anyone interested should register in advance to be sent the login link at btshelp.org/workplace.

Topics include why you should help; what addiction is, and how to recognize the signs and symptoms; having a conversation with the person you are concerned about; following up with treatment options and industry resources; what to do if the person doesn't want to stop, and a brief overview of union and employer obligations.
