Upstage Video Provides Greenbrier with Daktronics Screens for PGA Tour Event, Black Eyed Peas Concert

For the second straight year, Upstage Video provided two Daktronics video displays on the course of The Greenbrier Classic PGA Tour Tournament, July 25-31. The golf event overlapped with The 2011 Greenbrier Classic Concert Series, where Upstage Video provided three Daktronics video displays and a full video production package for the Black Eyed Peas concert in Lewisburg, West Virginia on July 29..

Starting with the PGA event, the two displays constructed of PST-12HD modular panels -- 15' H x 40' W on hole 17 and 9' H x 24' W on Hole 18 -- provided a mixture of sponsorship content, live television feeds and scoring graphics created by Upstage Video. The screens served to keep golf patrons updated and entertained during the event.

"As usual, the Daktronics screens provided by Upstage Video looked phenomenal," said Ernest Saeger, tournament operations manager - The Greenbrier Classic, PGA Tour. "The screens, the graphics, the crew, the whole package was first class." Upping the ante for the Black Eyed Peas concert, Upstage Video constructed a backdrop screen that was 26' H x 42' W and screens on each side of the stage, each was 15' H x 24' W. They also included a video production package consisting of the live scoring graphics from the PGA golf event and a six-camera production truck. The concert took place in between The Greenbrier Classic Concert Series headliners Tim McGraw on Thursday night and Keith Urban on Saturday night.

"We hire the best vendors for each event we produce, fitting their strengths to each specific element of an event on a case-by-case basis," said Gary Bowman of InteroLive, producer of The Greenbrier Classic Concert Series. "Brian Tyso, of Upstage Video, and his team delivered a great service and superior product to this event. He was professional in delivering everything promised and in a timely manner. Upstage is a company I would highly recommend and look for in the future."

"They have something very special going on over there at The Greenbrier," said Doug Murray, president, Upstage Video. "We just helped provide some of the details that added to the uniqueness of the event from adding two more displays and adding panels to increase the size of the main display for the concert to coordinating content for the golf event that carried over to the downtime before the concert started. With both events happening in the same weekend, we stepped up to help everything go off without a hitch."

Daktronics PST-12HD product that was used to create these displays is ideal for outdoor events with its superior viewing angles, unique louver design to overcome harsh outdoor lighting conditions and thin, lightweight panel design for easy set-up and tear-down.
