CAST Brings New Products to PLASA 2012

CAST BlackTrax system tracks objects or people in a defined 3D "space"

CAST is pulling out all the stops for PLASA 2012 with the debut of four new products. PLASA will be held at Earls Court in London, September 9-12, and CAST will be exhibiting in stand 1-E27.

The latest WYSIWYG release, R29, includes many new features and improvements, making the user's job more proficient and more professional. New features in R29 include the ability to touch select fixtures and manipulate in shaded view, create camera flies in 6D, a new six degrees of freedom camera system, drawing purge, truss-end indicators, multi-rotate, enhancements to the layer database window, gyroscope, world grid, and more.

BlackTrax V1 is an Ethernet-based, fast, and accurate solution that tracks objects or people in a defined 3D "space" and delivers the dynamic positional data in realtime in up to six degrees of freedom -- the usual x, y, z, plus roll, pitch, and yaw -- to audio, lighting, motion control, and media technologies, using a BlackTrax beacon which emits a virtually invisible infra red light via the LED that is seen by BlackTrax's proprietary, custom designed camera system which delivers the positional data to the BTServer. A tiny wireless radio in the BTBeacon transmits the additional packet for 6D -- roll, pitch, and yaw -- as well as redundant 3D backup. The onboard gyroscope communicates the orientation of a moving piece or performer at over 250 frames per second. Control can be located up to 100' (30m) away with 1/4" tracking accuracy.

Vivien 2012 is the most comprehensive sales, catering, planning and designing graphic application software that produces eye-popping 2D or 3D previsualization and photorealistic renders for the full spectrum of event professionals. It is fast, intuitive, and easy-to-use so even users with average computer literacy are not intimidated. Vivien uses several wizards that make complex/repetitive tasks fast and easy, simulates ambient and special event lighting (including the potential impact of full weather and time-of-day conditions), delivers a CGI [a picture] today of tomorrow's event, as well as seating assignment. Its deliverables also include easily executed layout options plus event resources lists and meal data for front-line sales, design, and catering. In the end, with precise, powerful visuals it is easy to win customers and then to deliver exactly what they signed up for, which is beneficial for building recurring business.

Vivien Online is an intuitive, 3D event design and sales software designed and built for the full spectrum of event professionals who work in the special events and meetings industry. It empowers users to conceive, design, sell, manage, and produce stunning events, all online, the company says. By making use of its wide array of tools, onboard wizards, a library of more than 20,000 proprietary industry-specific objects and textures, and the ability to import external files in a variety of formats (including Google SketchUp), individual or multiple users from all areas in an organization can become more professional, more productive, and more profitable.
