City Theatrical Highlights New Products at USITT 2016

City Theatrical will be demonstrating some innovative new technology at the USITT Conference & Stage Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah March 17 - 19, in booth 219, including SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 6, QolorStrip Wireless LED Strip, QPin300 Wireless Magnetic Pin Spot, QFlood 7500 Wireless LED Floodlight, QolorFlex LED Demo Kit, and a big new product that the company says "we can't announce until the show!"

Also being demonstrated is the complete line of SHoW DMX Neo wireless DMX products now equipped with Maximum Bandwidth Technology. Maximum Bandwidth Technology allows SHoW DMX users to avoid nearly all broadcast interference by confining their radio output to the general area of Wi-Fi channel 14 which is not used at all in the US and is used relatively less in other countries.

The company says City Theatrical's SHoW DMX Neo is the wireless DMX of choice for lighting professionals on Broadway and West End shows, permanent entertainment installations, architectural landmarks, major music tours such as Taylor Swift and U2, and large scale events such as the Olympics.

City Theatrical will be a participant in USITT's Innovation Gallery & Stage, which is a showcase where new products will be displayed in a museum gallery environment where attendees can view them and learn about their uses. A special speaker is set to give a short presentation regarding the product launch announcement being shown in the gallery on Friday, March 18, at 4:40pm. City Theatrical invites attendees not to miss it.

SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 6 is the latest version of the popular SHoW DMX SHoW Baby wireless DMX transceiver that is used in entertainment venues worldwide. SHoW Baby 6 gives users the ability to utilize City Theatrical's innovative Maximum Bandwidth Technology to help avoid interference. This is a simple change from the on board user interface that takes only seconds to make. Additionally, with six SHoW IDs, even larger multi universe systems can be scaled up, or as many as six independent SHoW Baby 6 systems can be used in the same area without interfering with each other.

The QolorStrip Wireless LED Strip is a one meter long LED striplight with 18 RGBW LED emitters, providing a very bright 4,000 lumen output. The 18 LEDs can be independently controlled by 72 channels for pixel mapping and can produce vivid chases for eye catching lighting effects. Control is by SHoW DMX Neo with Maximum Bandwidth Technology wireless DMX built in, or by stand alone control.

The QPin 300 Wireless Magnetic Pin Spot has a very narrow, bright, white, 4.5-degree beam spread that can pinpoint any object, such as a floral centerpiece, painting, photo, or sculpture, and highlight it to draw attention. The IP65 rating allows the QPin 300 to be used indoors or outdoors in any weather. The built in magnetic base adheres to any steel object, and the unit can be dimmed either by a switch on the body of the unit, or remotely via a free smart phone app.

The QFlood 7500 Wireless LED Floodlight is a very bright, white, IP65 fixture that can operate in any weather, and its 7,500 lumen output will give the light output of a 750W halogen lamp. The lens folds down flat for storage and to protect the LED emitters, and the entire package is only about the size of a 10" (25cm) cube. This fixture is perfect for lighting parking lots and long paths at outdoor events when it is impossible to use generators or long extension cords.

City Theatrical's QolorFlex brand of professional LED tape, used on The Tonight Show, Late Night, Saturday Night Live, Best Time Ever, and dozens of other shows, has achieved an ETL listing and all types of QolorFlex LED tape are now certified as ETL compliant.

City theatrical has developed a QolorFLEX LED Tape Demo Kit to enable designers to easily do side by side comparisons of various tape products. The tape control board holds up to six sample strips at a time and allows users to adjust light output levels of both single and multicolor LED tapes.

The Source Four Follow Spot Yoke has now been adapted to hold the the ETC Source Four LED luminaire. The pan and tilt mechanisms feature high quality bearings for smooth movement, and the placement of the lighting fixture can be varied forward or backward to achieve perfect balance without counterweights or springs. A variety of accessories are available to make the yoke into a fully functioning follow spot.
