The Juilliard School Chooses 1 SOUND Speakers for Morse HallThe Juilliard School at Lincoln Center has chosen 1 SOUND loudspeakers for its audio system upgrade in Morse Hall. Adwar Video was contracted for the AV integration in Morse Hall, a versatile performance space that serves as a recital room, classroom for film and music, and venue for special guest lectures. An audio system was needed to support the hall's versatile programming, while providing a detailed showcase for music. 1 SOUND, in conjunction with Adwar Video, presented an audio demonstration to the school's AV team and music professors. The audio design for the room consists of Tower LCC84 columns as left and right mains supported by WSUB45is with Cannon C8s as delays. The Tower LCC84s' narrow dispersion pattern of only 5 degrees on top is helpful in a room with shorter ceilings. The units' controlled cardioid behavior helps to limit reflections behind the speaker, eliminating potential feedback from microphones on the sides or near the loudspeakers. The two WSUB45i subwoofers were mounted flush to the wall. The fast-responding units stand only 6.5" from the wall and are fast-responding. For delays, two Cannon C8s are mounted and angled with C-Clamp accessories. The C8s have a high SPL that, the company says, pairs seamlessly with the SPL capability of the Towers. Ryan Muldoon, audiovisual design engineer for The Juilliard School, says, "Working with Lou [Mannarino, founder and designer] and the 1 SOUND team was an absolute pleasure! From the first listen at the audio demonstration, we were all completely blown away by the clarity and depth of the sound. The detail and soundscape of the 1 SOUND loudspeakers is outstanding. It has been going great since the installation of the Morse Hall system, it sounds amazing."
