Martin Launches MAC Aura

The Martin Professional MAC Aura, launching this week at the PLASA Show (through September 14, Earls Court, London) is the first compact LED moving head wash light with zoom that , the company says, offers never-before-seen eye-candy aura effects and also functions as a highly capable single-lens wash with fully pre-mixed color.

The Aura's optical system combines two illumination systems in one luminaire -- multicolor beam LEDs and a backlight LED lens array - to produce an all-new visual palette that, the company says, takes the synthetic look out of LED wash lights for truly unique lighting design possibilities.

The fixture can be used as a single-lens wash or it can employ a separate set of individually controllable multicolor LEDs for eye-candy looks, the company says.

The MAC Aura houses an 11-58-degree zoom, which is capable of angling wide or extremely tight for high intensity beam looks. A uniform field of light and excellent efficiency is maintained throughout the zoom range, the company says.

The MAC Aura delivers almost 4,000 lumens of output in an ultra-compact 12.3 lb package; the company says it moves at a speed and precision that was once only associated with moving mirrors.

Thanks to its cooling system and high optical efficiency, the MAC Aura is said to be extremely quiet for noise-sensitive environments like TV and theatre.

Low power consumption (1 amp) allows multiple fixtures to be daisy-chained on the same power line for an easier, faster and less expensive installation,. the company says.
