Backup and StageHand Charity Bike Ride Call for More Cyclists

A group of industry colleagues is planning to cycle 100 miles across the UK to Olympia London on Saturday, September 14, to raise money for the entertainment industry charities Backup and StageHand.

Following on from the success of last year's bike ride, the group are looking for more avid cyclists to join them.

Organized by PLASA and the Production Services Association (PSA), last year's team consisted of representatives from PLASA, PSA, White Light, Autograph, UK Rigging, Harman, SFL, Anthem Publishing, and Real Marketing Services, each reporting a great sense of camaraderie throughout the journey. Together they raised over £1,600 and it is hoped that this year's figure will be even higher.

PLASA's managing director Peter Heath comments: "The 100-mile bike ride has become somewhat of an annual tradition, raising awareness and money for a valued industry charity. With mental health remaining a prevalent issue, the money raised will be put towards tackling this in the industry. we are calling for more cyclists to sign up for the challenge and support this worthy cause."

To sign up for the bike ride please get in touch with PLASA by emailing nicola.rye@plasa.org.
