Astera Launches QuikBeam 8-Unit QuikCase KitAstera's QuikBeam, launched in February at ISE, can be used for uplighting at events and film applications, thanks to its extremely compact size and light weight. The new QuikBeam 8-Unit QuikCase Kit contains eight QuikBeam luminaires, eight PowerFlows for integrated AC power daisy-chaining, 16 swappable QuikBrick batteries, and two ChargingDocks; the case is the same size as the existing 4-Unit PrepCase Kit. This, the company says, is essentially everything needed to light a set, event, room, space, environment, etc., all organized and protected, ready to use wired or wireless. It is also available as a separate empty case, offering companies and individuals who have already invested in the kit or the film/TV/video-dedicated 4-Unit PrepCase Kits to reconfigure their fixtures in a larger package. The QuikBeam has already won several awards: the TVB Europe Best of Show at ISE 2026 award; an SLU (SoundLightUp) Award for Innovation 2026; the TVB Europe Best of Show title at NAB 2026; AVTechnology's Best of Show at InfoComm 2026, and the ProHub Awards for Excellence 2026. It is a rapidly deployable, single-source Fresnel fixture with a 13-degree-to-60-degree QuikTurn zoom, swappable QuikBrick batteries, practical plug-and-play functionality and the colour characteristics of the Titan LED Engine, plus the innovative OutputGain feature. The QuikCase philosophy -- incorporating PowerFlow power supplies and QuikBrick battery units -- is designed for all scenarios where between-show turnarounds are tight for time. At the rental warehouse, fully charged sets of QuikBrick batteries can be swapped into the 8-Unit QuikCase Kit, and the fixtures are prepped for the next job. The QuikBeam's power compartment can fit a QuikBrick battery or a PowerFlow AC unit. PowerFlow is a wired power supply that can feed either a single fixture or a line of QuikBeams from a single cable run. Multiple units can run at full output, all day, from a single 16A circuit, via industry-standard and IP65-rated AC power cables. The QuikBrick is a hot-swappable battery for wireless operation, chargeable via PoE, ChargingDock, or USB-C. Built-inPoE support adds additional wired connectivity plus direct Ethernet (sACN / Art-Net). Sixteen QuikBricks are contained in the 8-Unit QuikCase Kit.
