GearSource Elevates User Experience with Sharetribe Partnership and Development Team Expansion

GearSource announce a strategic re-platforming initiative in collaboration with Sharetribe, the world's leading Marketplace platform, and a specialized Sharetribe certified marketplace development team. This 3-way partnership is set to revolutionize the way the industry lists and procures high-quality equipment, globally, the company says.

In a decisive move towards enhancing user experience, GearSource is set to take control of its new platform, backed by the formidable capabilities of Sharetribe, combined with a leading team of marketplace product development experts.

"We have learned a lot about how best to serve our amazing customers and vendors in the last year. Based on those lessons, we're taking more control over our new experience and partnering with Sharetribe to create something special for the way that our industry lists and buys gear. Our team has invested heavily in building our technology muscle in house, and we hope that will show in the new and improved GearSource, coming soon," says Marcel Fairbairn, founder and CEO at GearSource.

This strategic re-platforming effort promises a seamless and more efficient experience for both buyers and sellers. The partnership with Sharetribe, known for its expertise in building robust and user-friendly marketplace platforms, marks a significant milestone for GearSource who will be embarking on its 3rd major software expansion in only three years.

In addition to this pivotal Sharetribe partnership, GearSource announces the expansion to its in-house development team. With a new global dev team spanning from USA to Australia and Vietnam, GearSource is poised to harness a diverse range of marketplace exclusive talents and new perspectives to drive innovation and deliver a superior user experience.

The development team has been tasked with creating a cutting-edge technological infrastructure, ensuring that the new GearSource platform breaks barriers and sets new industry standards for performance and security.

One of the most notable security related upgrades will be to our payment processing system, both inbound and outbound. GearSource is employing a completely new payments processing service that enables immediate and secure handling of both domestic (US/Canada) and international payments, integrated within one system.

Incoming and outgoing transactions can be handled in your native currency, reducing the foreign exchange fees customers are charged. This totally unique financial backbone will provide a completely seamless experience, supporting several currencies for our global customers and sellers alike. For sellers, payments will move much faster and with a focus on the next level of security, fraud prevention and transparency.

The site will provide visibility throughout the entire transaction via seller dashboards. "It's your money -- we don't want to decide how and when you move it. This allows us to leave those decisions, along with both listing and payout currencies, entirely up to you" says GearSource CFO, Claudette Cyr.

Fairbairn states, "This re-platforming initiative is a testament to our commitment to excellence, no matter the cost. By bringing our development decisions back internally and partnering with Sharetribe, we aim to create an unparalleled experience for our users, further solidifying GearSource's position as a B2B leader in the professional production equipment marketplace. This will be a phased launch, with further development continuing well into the future, but our foundation will remain solid through this new Sharetribe partnership."

The new and improved GearSource.com is scheduled for release in November and will coincide with a "Selling Used Gear Doesn't Have To Be Spooky" campaign that will roll out over the next couple of weeks.
