AES Convention Preliminary Event Calendar Goes Live

With the culmination of fine-tuning for the 131st AES convention, October 20-23 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, comes the posting of the preliminary event calendar. Chock full of descriptive abstracts, dates, times, and presenter details, the PEC represents a full year of intensive activity.

"We have made every effort to develop the most user-friendly format for this year's PEC," reports committee chair Jim Anderson. "Easy to read, drop-down abstracts are imbedded within the color-coded grid. Dates and times are clearly illustrated. Although there will always be the occasional, unanticipated last minute change, we invite attendees to begin to plot their daily schedules now using the PEC as their map.

"We send a huge vote of appreciation to all our chairs and co-chairs for their Herculean efforts," Anderson says. "Broadcast and streaming events chair, David Bialik; education chair John Krivit; EE co-chairs, Bob Moses and Jonathan Novick; games track chair, Steve Martz; facilities chair, Michael McCoy; historical chair, Harry Hirsch; live sound co-chairs Henry Cohen and Mac Kerr; master class chair, Alan Silverman; papers co-chairs Veronique Larcher and Agnieszka Roginska; technical tours chair, Lou Manno; volunteers chair, Doron Schacter and workshops/tutorials chair Natanya Ford," have performed a series of miracles. Additionally, we all join in a special vote of thanks to AES executive director Roger Furness for his rock steady leadership," Anderson concludes. Without his help and guidance it would be impossible to develop a program of this complexity and magnitude."
