Lighting&Sound International Celebrates Barry Howse and Jane Cockburn's 20+ Years of Service

Barry Howse and Jane Cockburn, LSi / PLASA Media

At the end of April 2015, both Lighting&Sound International sales manager Barry Howse and sales executive Jane Cockburn will be leaving LSi after more than 20 years of working with PLASA's members, advertisers and readers, and exhibitors and visitors. Said LSi editor Lee Baldock: "On behalf of the entire PLASA Media team, I want to thank Barry and Jane for their many years of hard work and thousands of miles of travel undertaken in our cause. We will all miss them and wish them the very best in the future."

Howse joined LSi in March of 1992 as advertising manager, then as media sales manager. He also served on the PLASA Exhibitor Working Group. Cockburn joined in 1993 as LSi's sales coordinator, then media sales executive and has also regularly provided valuable organizational support for a succession of Showlight events which she will continue to work on. Both have made great contributions not just to PLASA Media, but to the events division and the organization as a whole, over the years.

Howse will be joining the Gearing Media Group in East Sussex and Cockburn will be taking some time off before deciding on her next adventures. Said Howse: "I feel proud to have been a part of such a great industry and to have met so many wonderful people along the way. I've always loved live music and continue to attend gigs on a regular basis so some of you may still see me around!" Cockburn agreed: "I have really enjoyed working with PLASA Media and the other PLASA divisions over the last 20+ years -- with all those deadlines the time has just gone by so quickly. I will miss being part of this fun and fascinating industry and will miss all my good friends and colleagues. However, it is time for a change and you never know where I might pop up again . . . watch this space."

PLASA CEO Matthew Griffiths commented: "PLASA is hugely indebted to both Barry and Jane for their great efforts over these past many years which has brought so much success to PLASA. They have been an integral part of the PLASA family and will be greatly missed." Jackie Tien, PLASA Media's group publisher agreed: "I've really enjoyed working with Barry and Jane over the past 11 years as colleagues and as industry associates in the many years before then. Their professionalism and enthusiasm in helping across all areas of our unique global organization has been top notch."

Both Howse and Cockburn will be at the Prolight + Sound exhibition in Frankfurt April 15 - 17 and look forward to catching up with as many industry colleagues as they can during the show. They might also be found on the VPLT Stand D01, Galleria Ebene 1. In the meantime, please join all of PLASA in thanking and congratulating Barry Howse and Jane Cockburn and extending them best wishes at barry.howse@plasa.org, jane.cockburn@plasa.org.

Lighting&Sound International editor Lee Baldock and team are currently interviewing new candidates to join LSi. In the meantime, as of May 4, for advertising inquiries, please contact Lee Baldock, lee.baldock@plasa.org, Jackie Tien, jackie.tien@plasa.org, or Claire Beeson, claire.beeson@plasa.org.
