Main Light Invests in Elation Proteus Maximus Dry hire provider Main Light has added Elation Professional's IP-rated Proteus Maximus to its rental inventory and has the LED power luminaire in stock at both its Wilmington, Delaware facility (Main Light East) and newly-opened Las Vegas location (Main Light West). Main Light is one of the largest dry-hire rental houses in the United States for lighting, special effects, and video. "Our customers have expressed a great deal of interest in a high quality, IP-rated LED fixture with a powerful beam," says Randy Mullican, general manager at Main Light. "This purchase marks our move into a larger quantity of IP-rated beam fixtures and further diversifies our inventory." Eric Loader, director of sales and marketing at Elation, states "It's great for us that Main Light has added Proteus Maximus to their rental fleet, especially now that they have offices on both coasts providing a reliable source from which to sub-rent our products. The Proteus Maximus is a 50,000-lumen LED moving head that is routinely used to light some of the world's largest outdoor shows and events. It has also found a home in outdoor performing arts venues and is increasingly used in indoor and outdoor film and television production. The Maximus can be used as a profile, beam or wash light and houses a complete FX system (2 gobo wheels, animation, zoom, iris, dual prisms, dual frost), including a full blackout framing system. Its 950W white LED engine delivers a level of brightness that can reach across great distances, the company says. Main Light took delivery of the Maximus fixtures this past summer and has had them out with customers on numerous projects since. "The output and feature set of the Maximus satisfied most of our customer requests and needs," says Mullican, "and importantly Elation was able to supply the fixtures."
