BCi's POCKET CONSOLE-DMX Now Comes in 24 Channels -- The 24/EIGHT

BCI's 24/EIGHT

For a number of years, the company reports the market has been asking BCi for more control channels from the Pocket Console-DMX product. The BCi 24/EIGHT is the answer.

Still made in USA, this new console is a greatly expanded version of the POCKET CONSOLE-DMX, the little DMX-512 console that the company says has become the go to choice of lighting technicians, professionals, and students alike, when seeking fast, portable, and easy DMX device control.

This expansion was accomplished through the addition of a simple side mounted "bank" button that allows the user to access all 24 channels functioning simultaneously in three banks of eight, CH1-8, CH9-16, and CH17-24. The 24 levels can be readily accessed and set, then they are "banked" or held while moving between the three banks. This is easily done in any mode, whether while in patch, channel, or record operation. Through selecting one of the three banks by depressing the new bank button and then choosing the bump 1, 2, or 3 button, the operator can access the corresponding bank. When returning to a prior bank, the user can always find the correct level attained through the use of the syncing LED channel indicators that glow when any prior level is again achieved on a fader.

The 24/EIGHT can be patched just as always with up to 512 DMX addresses, only now into 24 channels of control, while still recording up to eight discrete "submasters" of the 24 channels. This is a newfound power which adds much greater flexibility to the Pocket Console-DMX while opening it up to far more convenient use, whether for LEDs, discrete control of 12/24 dimmer packs, or for setting or tech-ing a moving light.
