W-DMX on Seventh Asian Winter Games

Wireless Solution Sweden AB and Kvant Ltd. of Bratislava, Slovakia recently played part in the opening ceremonies of the seventh Asian Winter Games at Astana Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan. The games began on January 30 and continued in Astana and sister city Almaty through February 6. This was the first time that Kazakhstan hosted such a large event since achieving independence from the former Soviet Union. The event hosted 26 nations competing in 69 events in 11 sports.

For the opening ceremonies, the Slovakian laser specialist Kvant created a show using thirty-four 8W green lasers and 34 flashbacks, with effects update on Flashback via LiveQuick, a Pangolin laser system. Martin Vozar created the design.

Shelly Li, sales manager for Wireless Solution, said, "I spoke with [Kvant] during testing and they were very pleased with the stability of the W-DMX system. Everyone was very happy with the results."

Andrej Lassak, of Kvant, said, "We use W-DMX on many shows and it is very reliable. It is a good choice for us to install into our lasers."
