Philips Strand Lighting and Philips Selecon LED Ghostlights Shine for Behind the Scenes

Working to support Behind the Scenes, Philips Strand Lighting and Philips Selecon have donated USB LED ghostlights which are now being sold by The ESTA Foundation to raise funds for the financial support of entertainment technology industry professionals who are ill or injured. To date, Philips Strand Lighting and Philips Selecon have donated 250 USB LED ghostlights which have raised a total $10,000 to support those affected by illness or tragedy.

"Behind The Scenes relies heavily on the generous support of manufacturers such as Philips Strand Lighting and Philips Selecon," said Rick Rudolph, chairman of the Behind the Scenes Committee. "Through their donation, we have been able to not only raise additional awareness of the charity, but we have also been able to raise a significant amount of money to support those in need."

Since May of 2006, Behind the Scenes has provided almost $300,000 in grants to industry professionals, or their surviving family members, to assist a variety of needs which include expenses from medical bills, health insurance, physical therapy, and medications, to short-term living expenses such as food, housing, and utilities.

"When thinking about how much the lighting industry has given to Strand Lighting throughout our near 100 years of existence, it is our duty to make sure that we give back to a community and industry that has given us so much," said Pete Borchetta, Philips Strand Lighting product marketing manager. "Through the creation of the USB LED ghostlights, we are not only providing a useful tool to programmers, but we are fulfilling a concentrated effort to support those in our industry who need it most."

The USB LED ghostlights are now on sale through The ESTA Foundation, and those interested in purchasing one to support Behind the Scenes may visit the URL below.
