Sapsis Rigging Announces Voluntary Recall of ProPlus HarnessesSapsis Rigging announces it is voluntarily recalling the following ProPlus fall arrest harnesses: *ProPlus The Technician (Model 502015) *ProPlus X-Over (Models 502004 and 502004X) *ProPlus Production X Harness (Model 502000) The affected harnesses have a fixed dorsal ring and were manufactured between August 15, 2023 and March 31, 2025. At issue: 1) Some Technician, X-Over, and Production X harnesses were built with a fixed dorsal ring instead of an adjustable dorsal ring. 2) The fixed dorsal ring has been installed too low and does not meet the safety standards for a post-fall "angle at rest." The "angle at rest" is a critical safety parameter in fall protection harness design, specifically addressing the potential for suspension trauma. Exceeding the proper post-fall "angle at rest" for a prolonged period may cause injury or death. While there have been no incidents to date related to the fixed dorsal ring issue Sapsis Rigging, to ensure the continued safety of their customers, is voluntarily requiring that the use of these harnesses be stopped immediately. Please note that ProPlus crossover style harnesses with an adjustable dorsal ring are not affected by this recall and remain safe to use. Please go to www.sapsis-rigging.com/harnessrecall.html for more information regarding the recall and for instructions on replacing your harness.
