IDK Is Coming to America

Ryohei Iwasaki, CEO - IDK America Inc.

For more than 26 years, IDK Corporation has been in the pro AV market in Japan with advanced products and innovative technology, specializing in the education, corporate, and digital signage markets, successfully delivering cost effective solutions for class rooms, conference facilities, command and control centers, and for event/staging venues.

Founded in 1989 to manufacture video cables and RGB splitters for professional AV applications, IDK Corporation expanded early into matrix and presentation switchers, the company says "earning a reputation for great value by delivering a combination of high performance and flexible functionality at competitive pricing." IDK's record of pro AV innovations includes world firsts -- like the first digital presentation switcher to feature a built-in scan converter. IDK was an early adopter of HDMI in 2007 and of HDBase-T in 2010.

IDK America Inc.'s headquarters is located in Brookfield, Connecticut. Hideki Iwasaki, founder and president of IDK Corporation and chairman of IDK America Inc., stated at the formal opening of the Brookfield office: "We're very excited about coming to America, having waited for the right opportunity in terms of technology transition and competitive pro AV solutions. We expect that our continued focus on product development in Japan in the areas of 4K-UHD and pro AV over IP will assist IDK in achieving market success in North America."

Ryohei Iwasaki, executive director of IDK Corporation, has been appointed as CEO of IDK America Inc. He is responsible for IDK Corporation's world-wide sales and marketing efforts.

IDK is in the process of completing the expansion of its pro AV product lines to be fully 4K-UHD compliant in 2016. Some currently shipping key 4K-UHD products include:
- 4K fiber optic /CATx extenders
- 4K distribution amplifiers
- 4K presentation switchers

IDK offers real 4K support, up to 4K-60p 4:4:4, and HDCP2.2 compliance.

The entire professional television world, including pro AV, is in the process of moving media transport, transmission, and distribution from dedicated one video/audio signal per one cable to packetized IP networking where multiple video/audio signals can be carried bi-directionally on a single cable (i.e. twisted pair or fiber optic). Simultaneously with the opening of the US subsidiary, IDK is introducing its IP-NINJAR product line initially comprising extension links, enabling IP networking of pro AV signals and switching through COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) available 10GbE/40GbE IP routers.

All IDK products are designed and produced in Japan, the company says "with IDK's commitment to the highest quality control in design, development, and manufacture, assuring exceptional reliability, performance, and functional flexibility in the field."
