UEP Boosts its LED Lighting and Video Inventories

UEP's Tim Greenfield , Steve Butcher. and Tony Chapman

Buckinghamshire, UK-based rental and technical design services specialist Universal Event Productions (UEP) has added to its LED lighting inventory with the purchase of i-Pix i-Line 6 fixtures and MilTec MTC Batten 2s.

The company's Video department has been boosted with a new Roland V800 HD vision mixer.

This reflects a steadily busy year, and a particularly active autumn season. In 2013 the company celebrates its 15th year of operation as a single-source technical production service provider for all types of shows and events.

Says UEP's Steve Butcher, "It's been a good year with a constant stream of high quality work, which has enabled us to make several key purchases and ensure our clients benefit from the latest and best technologies and options available in all disciplines."

The company says UEP has invested heavily in LED technology over the last three years, with the aim of offering cleaner, greener, and more energy conscious creative solutions.

The i-Pix i-Line 6, of which UEP has purchased eight units -- is the UK manufacturer's most powerful product to date. It is a truly multi-purpose fixture. According to the company, it offers richer red and a deeper, more vivid green enable the creation of a whole new range of ambers through to an impressive swatch of warm whites emulating tungsten PAR 20 lamps.

The i-Line 6 can be used as a blinder, a cyc light unit, or as a general wash fitting with a bright light engine and optical efficiency, all resulting in an optimally smooth output. They join UEPs existing stock of i-Pix Satellites, Satellite MkIIs, and BB4 LED units.

UEP has further enhanced its general LED stock with 16 x MilTec MTC-Batten2 RGBWs, providing cost-effective and colorful washing for large areas and spaces.

The video department now has a new Roland V800 vision mixer at its disposal, reflecting the growing demand for HD. It is a flexible multi-format eight-channel mixer. Each input has its own broadcast-quality scaler to adjust each source as required to fit any output resolution.

Says Butcher, "It's a great day-to-day workhorse mixer and also the first Roland product that we have bought. So far I am very impressed!"

The company notes, as the trend for supplying "visual" packages -- as opposed to lighting and video -- continues, UEP has also increased its LED screen stock with the recent addition of 60-sq.-m. of 12mm Glux panels. This joins their existing 18mm pitch LED screen.

Recent projects have included press launches and shows for Xbox's Black Ops 2, while the new i-Pix I-Line 6s went directly out on the digital printer awards show as soon as they were delivered.
