Registration Now Open for 2027 URTA Auditions and Interviews

Registration is now open for the 2027 URTA Auditions & Interviews, which brings together prospective graduate theatre students and emerging theatre artists with representatives from graduate theatre programs across the US and abroad.

In-person events will once again be held in Philadelphia; Chicago; Fullerton, CA; and Atlanta, with remote participation also available.

"After a strong debut in 2026, we're excited to return to Atlanta," says Tony Hagopian, executive director of URTA. "The administration and community at our host venue, Spelman College, have been tremendously supportive and we are grateful for their continued hospitality."

All URTA member institutions undergo a peer review process to evaluate their MFA programs and ensure they provide meaningful financial assistance, such as tuition remission, scholarships, paid assistantships, stipends, or a combination of these.

URTA also offers Candidate Awards, which provide free registration to qualified applicants in all disciplines, including all candidates in sound design and arts leadership. Details are available at urta.com/awards.
