dBTechnologies USA Names Richard Dean Associates as New England Manufacturers' Rep

The RDA Team

dBTechnologies USA has appointed Richard Dean Associates as its manufacturers' representative for the six New England states and Upstate New York. Founded in 1975 by Richard Bazirgan and Dean Goodwin, Richard Dean Associates has represented professional audio and video manufacturers throughout the Northeast for more than five decades. Principal partners John "JD" Davidson and Bill King purchased the company in 2022.

Today, RDA is an eight-person organization, with six team members based in Massachusetts and two located in Upstate New York. Half of the team has been with RDA for more than 20 years.

"What stood out to us about RDA is how the company has continued to evolve while retaining the market knowledge that comes from five decades in the region," says Matthew Whitman, national sales manager for dBTechnologies USA. "Their investment in the RDA Tech Lab, product demonstrations and training, and their ability to support customers from the earliest design conversations through commissioning, gives us a strong platform for developing dBTechnologies across New England and Upstate New York."

RDA recently moved into a larger office, showroom, and product demonstration facility in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The facility includes the RDA Tech Lab, where customers can experience products firsthand, participate in software and product training, and attend multi-manufacturer technical events. It also supports remote demonstrations for customers unable to attend in person.

In addition to sales representation, RDA provides marketing assistance, product training, system-design assistance, technical support, order processing and management, and site and project assessment. The company works with dealers, distributors, rental companies and AV design consultants while also supporting end users through its established dealer network.

"The dBTechnologies demo at InfoComm 2026 was extremely impressive," comments Davidson. "It wasn't only the large-format systems that sounded incredible; I was also blown away by the passive installation loudspeakers. I immediately thought, 'We need to be part of this.' We're all very excited about the partnership."
