K-array Launches The Owl, an 8" Coaxial Audio Moving Head with a Monitoring Camera On-Board

K-array's Owl 8" coaxial audio moviing head with a monitoring camera on-board

K-array will exhibit at the ISE 2015 show in Amsterdam and plans to launch their most innovative product yet along with another 15 new product announcements for the 25th anniversary of the Italian pro audio manufacturer in Firenze. ISE, running February 10 - 12, provides K-array the opportunity to reveal the unique designs that Alex Tatini has been keeping locked in secret at the Italian-based factory. "K-array speaker systems were born out of necessity. The Anakonda which we launched at ISE in 2013 was the first flexible speaker to hit the market. It was designed to be a problem solver for all those situations where a traditional speaker box can't be used, but where good intelligibility, ultra-reliability, and a sleek design are required. Since then, the Anakonda has received awards around the world for it's unique innovation," Tatini co-president of K-array explains.

"Like all K-array products, we wanted to be pioneers in initiating innovation. My hunch told me that the market needs to positively respond to the ever changing demands of experts in our sector -- creative solutions are continuously being required which is what drove us to start working on the KW8, also known as The Owl. ISE is the perfect backdrop for this type of innovation."

The Owl is one of the first audio moving heads including a coaxial 8" transducer and a newly built in camera tool to allow users to accurately focus their directivity of sound. This feature bridges the gap between AV in a revolutionary concept. The Owl provides up to 500W of power, 120dB of SPL, and a frequency range from 60Hz to 19Khz.

Senior product specialist, Francesco Maffei added: "The Owl is a perfect solution for a range of applications including live 'on stage' monitoring, amusement park installations, airport, train station, DJ effects, and theatre installations plus many more still to be discovered. The flexibility of the Owl will offer an almost limitless number of solutions and in some cases reduce the amount of speakers required for one installation."

The Owl follows K-array's catalog of compact designed speakers by measuring 45cm x 40cm x 22cm and weighing just 10kg.

The company says the Owl has packaging that is stylish and compact, quick to assemble and deployed with DMX, USB, SDI, and audio balanced connections which guarantees easy plug and play connections, easy to transport, and delivers high SPL with unprecedented quality for a wide variety of performance types and venue configurations.

Tatini concludes "I cannot wait to see what people think at the ISE show."
