It's a long way to go for a spot of tea, but, as the winner of American DJ's "Come Play in the UK" contest, not only did Mike Susca of Direct Sound Wedding DJ & Decor Lighting Service in Southern California get to experience tea time in England, he also had the opportunity to check out old Beatles haunts plus do some mixing, mingling, and exchanging of tips with fellow DJs at the BPM 2011 DJ Show in Birmingham.

The "Come Play in the UK" contest invited DJs to create a short video telling American DJ which European DJ or musician they would most like to meet, and which ADJ light they would present as a gift to him or her. Susca, who goes by the name DJ Mikey Mike professionally, put together a video that featured a rap version of The Beatles' "Yellow Submarine," with cameo appearances by members of Britain's Royal Family and the Fab Four themselves. For his must-meet DJ/music star, Susca chose DJ and executive Simon Fletcher, who is also American DJ's sales manager in the southern United Kingdom district.

Susca's all-expenses-paid adventure included airfare to Manchester, UK, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, £500 ($750) spending money, and admission to the BPM Show. The prize also included a one-day tour of The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool, accompanied by representatives of American DJ, which included stops at such iconic locations as the Cavern Club, Strawberry Field, and Penny Lane. Additionally, Susca made sure he had time to take a quick trip over to the Old Trafford Stadium, the home of the internationally renowned Manchester United football club.

"Events such as our 'Come Play in the UK' contest really bring together the global DJ community and help to strengthen the relationships between American DJs and European DJs," said Alfred Gonzales, national sales manager for American DJ." "Mikey was impressed with the positive reaction and great reputation that American DJ products have in England. He and his friend Chris were great ambassadors for American DJ and American Audio during their trip, and they're thrilled they were able to take part in an exciting event like the BPM Show."
