Listen Technologies CEO Receives InfoComm 2017 Adele De Berri Pioneers in AV Award

Russ Gentner, Listen Technologies

Listen Technologies, a provider of assistive listening products for more than 17 years, announces that Russ Gentner, co-founder, president, and CEO of Listen Technologies, has been awarded InfoComm International's prestigious Adele De Berri Pioneers in AV Award for 2017.

Each year, InfoComm, the trade association representing the commercial audiovisual industry worldwide, recognizes AV professionals for their contributions, leadership, and commitment to excellence. The Adele De Berri Pioneers in AV Award recognizes individuals who have made scientific breakthroughs resulting in new AV technologies that impacted the manufacture and sale of novel products enjoyed by audiences worldwide.

The InfoComm Awards Committee recognized Gentner for his history of innovation and his advocacy for those with hearing loss. Gentner developed the first channelized acoustic echo canceler for telephone and videoconferencing applications. In 1997, he co-founded Listen Technologies and began offering assistive listening solutions to meet the needs of people with disabling hearing loss.

"I am incredibly honored to be named the InfoComm Adele De Berri Pioneer in AV Award winner for 2017, but I am supported by an incredible team of individuals who share my fervent belief that hearing and understanding speech is a universal right," said Gentner. "At Listen Technologies, this shared commitment inspires us to develop products that deliver pure, focused, powerful sound in settings where hearing is critical but difficult."

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that approximately five percent of the world's population -- 360 million people -- has disabling hearing loss. Assistive listening systems such as Listen Technologies' ListenIR, ListenRF, ListenWiFi, and ListenTALK, are easy, affordable solutions to help those with hearing loss or who are in need of language interpretation. Applications include classrooms, courtrooms, theaters, houses of worship, manufacturing plants, and museums.

Gentner will receive the Adele De Berri Pioneers in AV Award in a ceremony at InfoComm 2017's Center Stage at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando June 14.
