Avid Introduces Venue HD Bundles with New Pro Tools|HD Native Thunderbolt Interface

Avid ProTools HD Native ThunderBolt

Avid announces three new Venue HD system bundles that pair a powerful Venue live sound system with the new Pro Tools|HD Native Thunderbolt interface. The D-Show HD Native 64 bundle, Profile HD Native 64 bundle, and Mix Rack HD Native 64 bundle all come with a Pro Tools|HD Native Thunderbolt interface and offer cost-effective, portable solutions to mix and record live performances, play back prerecorded tracks, and speed up sound checks with Virtual Soundcheck.

Avid is exhibiting at PLASA 2012 in stand 1-G17. PLASA runs September 9-12 in London's Earls Court.

These Venue HD bundles include everything needed to record up to 64 inputs using industry-standard Pro Tools HD, to a Thunderbolt-equipped laptop or desktop computer -- no additional audio interfaces required. Engineers can monitor their recordings in confidence using the HD Native Thunderbolt interface's built-in audiophile-grade headphone output, which is powerful enough to drive headphones over the roar of the crowd, the company says. A laptop lock port is also included to ensure that the Thunderbolt interface doesn't become too portable and walk away from the gig.

"The new HD Native Thunderbolt interface is the perfect complement to any Venue system," says Sheldon Radford, senior product manager at Avid. "It's rugged yet portable, and the built-in headphone amp is great for confidence-checking live recordings on the fly. Bundling it with Venue systems provides customers with a simple one-stop-shop for building a live recording and playback system."

For maximum flexibility, Venue HD System bundles also offer options with Pro Tools| HDX and HD Native PCIe card configurations, providing engineers with flexibility in choosing the perfect end-to-end live sound mixing, recording, and playback solution for their needs.
