LumenRadio Releases CRMX OEM Modules in W-DMX Legacy Form Factor

LumenRadio has announced the immediate release and availability of CRMX OEM modules in the 82 x 46mm W-DMX form factor.

All CRMX OEM modules, as well as all other CRMX products, have always offered W-DMX receiver radio compatibility; i.e. a CRMX receiver will automatically detect a W-DMX transmitter and configure itself to work with the W-DMX protocol. (This refers only to the current W-DMX Generation 3 (G3) protocol. LumenRadio can not guarantee compatibility with future and not yet released products from Wireless Solution.) LumenRadio's native 27.5 x 65mm CRMX footprint has been hugely popular due its ability to fit in today's shrinking products, the company says, but did not offer fit and form compatibility for legacy device designs.

The new modules are form-, fit-, and function-compatible with Wireless Solution's OEM cards and offer a convenient upgrade path to LumenRadio's CRMX technology and a secure supply chain for legacy device designs while retaining W-DMX compatibility, the company says.

"We have repeatedly been approached by OEMs who tested our CRMX technology and found it vastly superior to their existing wireless DMX solutions," says Hans Lau, the company's director of OEM development. "These OEMs were at the same time looking to secure a more reliable supply chain and better technical support. The obvious solution was to port our CRMX OEM products to the legacy W-DMX form factor; offering these OEMs a single source for CRMX technology and W-DMX protocol compatibility for both legacy and new designs."

"Customers who want to gain all the benefits of CRMX such as Cognitive Automated Coexistence, error correction, synchronization, encryption, longer range, and deterministic 5ms latency now have a choice even if their products originally was designed to accommodate only the W-DMX form factor," adds Anders Ardstål, LumenRadio VPO. "Keep in mind that the optimal configuration for any system is always to employ CRMX technology in all system components, since neither W-DMX transmitters and nor W-DMX receivers support all these advanced features."
