LumenRadio's CRMX at Sweden's Historic Täby Church

Täby Church, located outside Stockholm, originates from the 13th century, when it was one of the primary houses of worship in Sweden. Much of the interior, including the altar, is from the 1470s; it has been carefully preserved over the centuries and is still in use today. The church is most famous internationally for its 15th-century ceiling paintings depicting Death playing chess with a knight, which inspired Ingmar Bergman's famous film The Seventh Seal.

When LjusDesign and lighting designer Peter Lindbom of AIX Arkitekter were tasked with creating a new lighting for the famous church, working with the historical and fragile interior proved a challenge. Electrical wiring was in place, but putting DMX cables in the church was not an option. Their solution involved building LumenRadio CRMX OEM cards directly into the fixtures themselves, making the lighting controls invisible.

"We've had an excellent experience working with LumenRadio's OEM cards in the past, so they have become our main tool when approaching delicate environments where you cannot disturb the interior. They're small enough to fit into anything and work in even nightmare environments with thick walls and no line-of-sight. We know what we're going to use for all the churches we're doing in the future", explains Stefan Gemzell at LjusDesign.
