Renkus-Heinz Debuts IC2 Live at Pro Light+Sound 2011

Renkus-Heinz Sr VP Ralph Heinz Stands Below the IC2 Array.

In 12 public demonstration sessions and a live demo to the world's entertainment technology media, Renkus-Heinz unveiled the groundbreaking IC2 (IC Squared- the world's first high powered, medium format digitally steerable loudspeaker system - at ProLight+Sound.

Designed for theatre and club installations, IC2 integrates digital beam steering with high power output, built-in amplification and RHAON network control, opening a totally new product sector in pro audio for venues looking for the ultimate in quality and control.

Renkus-Heinz also showed the expanding IC Live family of digitally steerable array loudspeakers, and the new CF/CFX101-LA Modular Point Source Array, a potent solution for today's small and mid-sized venues, including auditoria, night clubs, theaters and houses of worship.

Other systems on display were the Iconyx IC8 and IC16R, designed for digital beam steering installations; the high power, fully portable IC Live digital beam steering system with matching IC215S-R subwoofer, and the compact and low profile IC7 / CF12S Combo package.

The company says IC2 sets a new benchmark in live sound loudspeaker design by combining the control and flexibility of Iconyx digitally steerable technology with the power and focus of a point source loudspeaker, creating the world's first 'hybrid array' with the full benefits of both technologies.

Four 8" low frequency Neodymium transducers and 1" Titanium Nitride coated HF drivers offer high SPL point source performance, while individual steering control of each driver gives the IC2 exceptional vertical pattern control for maximum intelligibility by delivering up to four separately controllable beams, the company says.

Each IC2 two-way 8-inch module delivers articulate musicality and powerful punch, with a versatile design that can be used as a stand-alone high-performance loudspeaker, a small ground stack or a flown array of up to 20 cabinets.
