RGB Lights Launches New FlexiFlex Touring Truss at PLASA 2011

RGB Lights, the creator of FlexiFlex, will launch its new FlexiFlex Touring Truss at PLASA 2011, September 11-14, Earls Court, London. The new truss is the first specifically created to simplify and speed up large format video installations using FlexiFlex, one of the industry's leading flexible modular LED video systems.

"FlexiFlex Touring Truss takes the concept of pre-rig truss and brings it to the large format video world," says Brett Gardner, RGB Lights founder. An integrated cable and power management system allows stagehands and technicians to set up faster and with fewer connections. The 24" x 12" box truss is designed to house power supply, power distribution, and networking components. FlexiFlex Touring Truss can support 50-100 millimeter FlexiFlex panels up to 60' high.

"Now FlexiFlex users can install massive LED video surfaces in a fraction of the time needed for other products," says Gardner. "After bringing power and data to each section of truss, they can just fly it up, and allow the FlexiFlex panel to unfold as the truss leaves its cart."

The HUD/GT -compatible system is available in 4-, 8-, and 10' standard lengths and utilizes pin/spigot connections. It's stackable for easy load-in and load-out. And the cart system is designed for 1/3 truck pack to simplify transport. All components are designed to be easily serviced in the field by the users' own onsite technicians.

Since its release in 2008, FlexiFlex has been chosen by lighting and scenic designers interested in using video in new and unusual ways. The flexible panels can be draped, wrapped, and hung to create thin, transparent video surfaces both indoors and outdoors. FlexiFlex has been used on numerous concert tours, including Bon Jovi, Black Eyed Peas, Beastie Boys, Jamie Foxx, Keri Hilson, and Guns N' Roses.

"Touring and large-scale production clients are under ever-increasing pressure to deliver a bigger visual impact in less time, using fewer resources," says Gardner. "FlexiFlex Touring Truss helps them achieve that."

FlexiFlex Touring Truss will begin shipping in October 2011.
