Focusrite Introduces ISA 828 MkII, ISA ADN2, and ISA ADN8

Focusrite ISA 828 MkII

Focusrite announces three new products in the ISA range that bring the classic Focusrite sound to Dante Audio-over-IP networks. The eight-channel ISA 828 MkII features the same transformer-based input stage, complete with the Lundahl LL1538 transformer, as its predecessor. New, however, is compatibility with Dante Audio-over-IP networks, facilitated by the optional ISA ADN8 A-D card. Also new is an updated power supply that allows for more efficient power consumption, a reduction in heat generation, and extremely reliable operation. The front panel remains unchanged, with six-step metering on each channel, and front-panel instrument inputs for channels one to four.

The Focusrite ISA ADN8 is an optional A-D card for the ISA 828 MkII and ISA 428 MkII. It provides ADAT Optical, AES3, and Dante connectivity at rates up to 24-bit/192kHz. The card offers primary and secondary RJ45 Dante output ports, an AES59-configured DB25 connector for AES3 output, and a pair of TOSLINK connectors for ADAT output. Word Clock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronization with many external devices.

The final new introduction is the ISA ADN2, an optional two-channel 24-bit/192kHz A-D card that provides high-quality analogue-to-digital conversion for the ISA One mic preamp and DI. The card offers primary and secondary RJ45 Dante output ports, an XLR connector for AES3 output, a TOSLINK connector for ADAT output and RCA connector for S/PDIF output. Word Clock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronization with many external devices.

ISA 828 MkII new features:
* Optional ISA ADN8 eight-channel card offers high-quality A-D conversion to Dante, ADAT, and AES3 at sampling rates of up to 24-bit/192kHz.
* A new switching power supply allows for more efficient and cooler operation, providing greater reliability.

ISA 828 MkII key features:
* Classic ISA mic preamp design featuring Lundahl LL1538 input transformer on each channel.
* Front-panel instrument inputs to first four channels.
* Line inputs with dedicated input connectors and front-panel selector switches.
* Switchable input impedance including classic ISA 110 setting.
* High-pass filters on each channel.
* Switchable insert points when used with optional ISA ADN8 card.
* Per-channel six-segment LED peak level meters.

ISA ADN2 key features:
* Two-channel analogue-to-digital converter for ISA One.
* Up to 24-bit/192kHz sample rate.
* Dante connectivity via Primary and Secondary Ethernet ports with redundancy and auto switchover in case of failure.
* Two-channel XLR connection for AES3 output.
* Two-channel RCA connection for S/PDIF output.
* Two-channel TOSLINK connection for ADAT output.
* Word Clock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronization with many external devices.
* RedNet Control and Dante Controller software allow Dante routing and control from a computer; no hardware patching required.

ISA ADN8 key features:
* Eight-channel analogue-to-digital converter for ISA 428 MkII and ISA 828 MkII.
* Up to 24-bit/192kHz sample rate.
* Dante connectivity via Primary and Secondary Ethernet ports with redundancy and auto switchover in case of failure.
* Eight-channel AES59 DB25 output connection for AES3.
* Two TOSLINK connectors for ADAT.
* Word Clock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronization with many external devices.
* RedNet Control and Dante Controller software allow Dante routing and control from a computer; no hardware patching required.
