Penn Elcom Launches New LED Tape RangePenn Elcom has launched a new LED tape range, starting with four variants offering three different types of white -- PRIMO, dim-to-warm, and dynamic (tunable) -- plus an RGBW chip on board) for full color. The products offer five- or seven-year warranties, plus access to Penn Elcom's technical service and support. "We looked at the already busy LED tape market and identified areas of demand where quality and good pricing could be optimized and improved," comments Rob Platt, sales and marketing director. Penn Elcom has a well-established in-house wiring department that has spent years cutting, soldering, and assembling most of the premium LED tapes and LED strips on the market. The company also leaned into its international manufacturing operations across the UK, US, and Asia and its global distribution network for producing and offering these new products. "These new LED tape ranges are proudly Penn Elcom-branded, underlining our confidence that they offer our customers the best possible options," Platt says. PRIMO is a warm white product designed for low running costs -- buildings, architectural, set dressing, etc. -- with a lumen output of 1,510 per meter from just 9W power draw (per meter), an efficacy of 167lm/W. This achieves energy efficiency class C under both UK and EU energy directives. Dim-to-warm is suitable for cozy, warm, relaxed atmospheres. It dims from a 3,000K warm white to an 1,800K candlelight amber with smooth dimming from 100% to 3%, recreating a classic halogen-style glow. Tuneable/dynamic white is a flexible solution offering adjustable warm-to-cool white in one strip between 2,200K and 3,500K, from very warm candlelight to crisp balanced white, using 120 warm and 120 cold white chips per meter. COB RGBW, dot-free, offers seamless homogenized color changing with a chip-on-board construction, producing a continuous line of light with no visible diodes and full RGBW color plus a dedicated 4,000K white channel. PWM control options include Bluetooth, DALI, DMX, or RF. In addition to architectural, theatrical, and commercial markets, the demand for LED tape has recently increased from case manufacturers, one of Penn Elcom's core markets, who are branching out into more creative areas, e.g. making mobile coffee carts and other food stalls, as well as from lighting, sound and video console manufacturers, who are integrating practical lighting as standard into their ranges. The company notes that its UK-based team "can assist in choosing the right products, compiling detailed technical data and quoting for the components required, together with cost-saving calculations if needed, as well as advising on drivers, wiring, and lighting control."
