Bandit Lites Supplies Kansas & 38 Special Summer 2025 TourThe Kansas & 38 Special Summer 2025 Tour is supplied by Bandit Lites. Production manager Chad Singer and lighting designer/director Scott Pearson led the charge for Kansas' headlining production, crafting a lighting design that evokes the band's rich musical legacy yet feels fresh and modern. Supporting the execution night after night is lighting tech Jason Healy. "The team at Bandit, from the first phone call for a show concept to the first cue of the show, has been nothing short of the ultimate in professionalism," Peterson says. "If there's ever an issue, solutions are quick to follow." He adds, "We've been trusting Bandit for almost ten years, and we look forward to the next ten!" For 38 Special, production manager and lighting designer/director Noah Hungerford took the reins, delivering a muscular design packed with vibrant colors, rapid transitions, and bold silhouettes. Hungerford says Bandit supplied a "pretty comprehensive, yet simple three-truss rig (plus backdrop truss): washes, spots, and blinders all around (GLP X4s, MAC Vipers, and Elation CuePix WW2s). The mid- and upstage trusses also hinge down at the ends a couple of feet, giving a little shape to the system. This flown rig does most of the heavy lifting for both bands; not new tech, but tried and trusted gear with good saturation and reliability." The rig includes 33 GLP X4 RGBWs, 18 Martin MAC Viper Profiles, seven Elation DTW Blinder 350 IP, seven 7 Elation SixPar 100s, twelve 10' Tyler GT Truss, four 8' Tyler GT Truss , and five 12" x 10' truss. The tour also makes heavy use of hazers, additional moving lights, and a robust network of control and power distribution systems, all optimized for rapid setup and teardown across a packed multi-city schedule. The tour, launched in mid-June, will conclude in late summer. Select dates featured additional performances by Jefferson Starship, The Outlaws, and Dave Mason.
