DAS Doubles Down on US Expansion with New Hires, Rep Firms

DAS Audio announces it is expanding in the US, backing up the claim with new hires and new rep firms. "This is the moment to grow," says Jaime Villegas, general manager of DAS Audio of America. "We just celebrated our 30th anniversary of DAS Audio in the US, and we're building something meaningful, and that starts with the right people, the right partners, and a vision that looks beyond short-term headlines."

Recent additions to the US team include David Kuhner and Burton Ishmael. Kuhner's career began onstage and evolved into senior sales roles with leading manufacturers, including L-Acoustics. "I've known the DAS team for years," he says. "What sets them apart is the people. Their curiosity, their kindness, their care, and the fact that they make everything themselves. Their sound is their own, and it shows in every system. That's rare."

Ishmael, whose appointment was announced in early June, is a front-of-house engineer and broadcast audio expert. His resume includes front-of-house engineering credits for Madonna, Post Malone, NAS, HER, Bryson Tiller, and G-Eazy, along with current work on NBC's flagship shows, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live. He serves as senior market development manager, pro audio, with a focus on helping more users experience the ARA Series.

"Burton has been a longtime believer in DAS Audio," Villegas says. "Having him onboard brings valuable experience, credibility, and a true connection to the working engineers who use our gear every day. His presence on this team means the world to us."

DAS has also partnered with the rep firms Mizzen Marketing and Pro Media Marketing, to cover key territories where the company is poised for growth. The company says, "This expanded network gives DAS Audio the reach and relationships to meet rising demand across a variety of verticals, from live production and touring to worship, broadcast, and permanent venue installations."

Kuhner says, "This is a company that knows who it is and where it's going," he said. "It's still a family-run business. There's a sense of care and connection. You feel it everywhere, from walking through the door of the offices in Miami to standing in any DAS Audio venue or show around the country."

The company adds, "As the pro AV industry braces for market uncertainty, DAS Audio is taking a different path: head-on into the future. The message for the industry is clear: DAS Audio is here, and it is investing in the future of professional audio in the United States."
