myMix Business Development in Asia to be Led by Tommy Kim

Tommy Kim

Tommy Kim has been named director of business development for Asia by Movek Corp LLC, makers of the myMix personal monitoring system. The appointment was announced at the recent Prolight + Sound exhibition in Germany. Kim will spearhead the development of the myMix brand across a region that Movek founder, Mathias von Heydekampf, described as "a perfect market for us; there is so much potential!"

Having been a highly visible figure in the Asian AV industry in many different capacities, Kim is looking forward to returning to professional audio. His responsibilities will include supporting and expanding the myMix brand throughout the region. Kim will stay based in Seoul, reporting directly to von Heydekampf. "I am very excited to work with the Movek team. I have great respect for Mathias from my days with EV. I have been on board with myMix from the beginning but am now thrilled at the opportunity to build the brand here in my territory and to be working with a friend," reports Kim.

"Tommy is responsible for business development in all of Asia and we're very proud to have him on board," explained von Heydekampf. "He's a very experienced manager and a good friend. We have some great history together and we're looking forward to establishing Asia with him."

Regarding the company's plans for Asia, von Heydekampf added: "There is so much potential in the Asian market but we want to be very systematic about how we approach it -- take things step by step. The Korean market really represents a great opportunity for us -- it has a big house of worship community which is ideal for myMix. Once we build our presence, it will be easy to expand into other countries like Japan and China."

According to von Heydekampf, the appointment was discussed during a recent visit to Seoul, before being finalized on April 9, immediately before Prolight + Sound. "We discussed the deal in the Gangnam district, so we did it Gangnam style!" he smiled, adding: "Tommy has the insight that I don't have. We are really excited about it and we know that we'll have a great future together in Asia."
