ADJ Introduces Many New Lighting Solutions at LDI 2013

ADJ's Inno Color Beam Quad7

A high-output LED blinder / matrix panel powered by advanced COB (Chip On Board) LED technology is one of the product highlights that ADJ will be unveiling at the 2013 LDI show, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, November 22-24. Called the Dotz Matrix, this color-mixing panel utilizes 16 30W COB tri-color RGB LEDs, which provide brightness, punch, and richer colors than surface mount (SMD) LEDs, allowing designers to make a much more powerful high-impact lighting statement at clubs, concerts, and productions.

ADJ will also be showing inventive solutions in the area of event lighting, as well as new entries in today's popular beam effect category. Here is a closer look at some products that ADJ will be displaying at its LDI booth 725.

Dotz Matrix -- Representing the next evolution in LED technology, this wash / blinder matrix panel is powered by 16 30W three-in-one color-mixing RGB COB LEDs (configured in four rows by four LEDs). The difference in COB technology vs. SMDs is that multiple COB LED diodes are directly mounted on the circuit board as one lighting module, so interconnection lengths are shortened, with what the company says results in greater output from a smaller illumination source, more even light distribution, better color homogenization, and improved heat dissipation. In addition, the Dotz Matrix offers pixel mapping capabilities with four pixel flipping options for stunning visual effects. Great for stage lighting, bands and nightclubs, it also has a full complement of other pro features, including: a 60-degree beam angle, five selectable dimming curves, strobe/pulse effect, built-in shows and color macros, DMX control (five DMX channel mode options), RDM (Remote Device Management), and four operational modes.

Event Bar Q4 - A four-head X-Y Bar pinspot system, the Event Bar Q4 produces small color-changing 5-degree beams from 10W CREE 50,000-hour quad-color RGBW LEDs. A versatile unit, it is ideal for spotting tables, retail displays and room décor, as well as creating special effects at nightclubs and parties. With four operating modes and three DMX channel options (12-, 14-, or 25-channels), users have a lot of flexibility. Using DMX, for example, they can control each pinspot's colors and movements individually. The Event Bar Q4 also includes full dimming/strobing on each pinspot head, 12 built-in shows, and a four-button DMX LCD display. It comes with built-in DMX-512 in/out, IEC power in/out connectors, an Omega bracket for truss mounting, and a built-in mount for a lighting stand (sold separately).

Event Pod System -- Color spotting at events, dinner tables, retail stores, parties, corporate functions -- or anywhere -- has never been easier. ADJ's Event Pod System is a set of four compact, lightweight (1lb / 0.25kg) lithium-battery powered, color-changing lighting pods, each containing one RGB tri-color LED. Because it's battery-operated and highly portable, the Event Pod System can quickly be set up anywhere -- even in places where there are no electrical outlets. Featuring eight preset colors and three selectable color speeds, the system is also very simple to operate. It includes an easy-to-use ADJ Event-RC hand-held remote controller, which can send signals from up to 30' / 10m away. Its rechargeable battery has a five-hour life full-on and a two-hour charge time.

FX Beam -- Another example from ADJ that "good things come in small packages," the FX Beam is a micro pin beam effect (4.75" x 4.75" x 6"/ 119 x 119 x 148 mm) with a narrow 3-degree angle that's great for spotting displays and dinner tables, as well as for use in multiples to create lighting excitement at parties and events. It features an FX mode switch on the rear panel that allows users to run it in sound active or strobe mode, as well as a potentiometer for controlling strobe speed. A versatile fixture, the FX Beam can also be used with ADJ's T4 or T20F chase controllers for an automated light show.

Inno Color Beam Quad7 -- Combining the hard-edge beam effect sought after by today's pro lighting designers with seven quad-color four-in-one RGBW LEDs, the Inno Color Beam Quad7 produces colorful effects that will take any light show to the next level. This high-performance moving head also offers LED zone chasing, exciting built-in programs, 0-100% electronic dimming, strobe/pulse effect, and 540-degree pan / 200-degree tilt. It features three operational modes: DMX-512 (one or 13 channel), sound active, or master/slave, and can also be run with ADJ's easy-to-use UC3 controller (sold separately). Low maintenance and energy efficient, its LEDs have a long 50,000-hour life and it consumes just 130W of power.
