All My Sons Leads in Carbonell Design Nominations

The nominations have been announced for this year's Carbonell Awards, which honor achievement in the theatre scenes of Miami/Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties in Florida. Leading the design nominations is Palm BeachDramaworks' production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons, which was nominated in all four design categories.

In the category of best scenic design, the nominees are Michael Amico, for All My Sons; Tim Bennett, for Stuff at Caldwell Theatre Company, Douglas Grimm, for Lombardi at Mosaic Theatre; Sean McClelland, for August: Osage County at Actors' Playhouse; and Michael Schweikardt, for The Sound of Music at Maltz Jupiter Theatre.

Nominees for best lighting design are Paul Black, for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Maltz Jupiter Theatre; John Hall, for All My Sons; Andrew Myers, for The Light in the Piazza at Broward Stage Door Theatre; Jeff Quinn, for Red at GableStage; and Patrick Tennent, for Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol at Actors Playhouse.

Nods for best costume design went to Brian O'Keefe, for All My Sons; Jose M. Rivera, for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; and Ellis Tillman, who racked up three separate nominations - for Hairspray at Actors' Playhouse; In the Next Room (or The Vibrator Play) at GableStage; and Song of the Living Dead at Promethean Theatre.

Nominees for best sound design are Victoria Deiorio, for Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps at Maltz Jupiter Theatre; Alexander Herrin, for Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol; Keith Kohrs, for Crazy for You at Maltz Jupiter Theatre; Marty Mets, for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; and Rich Szczublewski, for All My Sons.
