Race BlackTrax at ProLight+Sound 2012 in the CAST Stand

CAST Software of Toronto, Canada is bringing some racing excitement to the show floor at Prolight + Sound 2012, March 21 - 24, at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, Hall 9.0, Stand C76.

CAST's stand design will feature a slot-car racetrack that pits two people in a head-to-head race -- with both racers trying to beat the realtime speed of BlackTrax. The racetrack itself is projected from above and the entire stand will be filled with BlackTrax interactivity.

The racetrack will be controlled by a 22" touchscreen. Racers control the action and BlackTrax will determine the race time of each car, as well as the winner. Each race winner will be entered into a raffle for prizes, and the daily race winner wins a daily grand prize.

The CAST stand will have no live programming. Based on what each racer does, BlackTrax will coordinate lighting, sound, video streaming/projection, and camera tracking by delivering streaming precise positional data in realtime. Creating a totally immersive entertainment experience for the racers and onlookers.

Each racecar will be followed around the track with a Clay Paky Sharpy, driven by BlackTrax. On the final lap, the Sharpys will strobe the winning car. As the cars race, real-time spatial audio follows. During races, BlackTrax will deliver the positioning data for the third-party spatial audio, lighting, and projected media -- without distracting the rest of the stand.

BlackTrax will feed real-time positional data to CAST's BlackBox, in turn driving automated cameras. Mounted above the control podium will be a dome camera to integrate aerial shots of the cars. Each race will be recorded and posted to the CAST Software channel on YouTube.

In addition, CAST personnel will be in the stand to answer questions and talk about WYSIWYG, Vivien -- Virtual Event Designer, as well as the BlackTrax technology.

Tupac Martir, production designer and creator of Nierka, the London stage show that first applied the BlackTrax system, will be available to meet and discuss his use of the technology and future visions in the CAST stand.

Martin Kuhn is a Swiss-based Lighting Designer and user of WYSIWYG and BlackTrax with vast experience working with media servers and 3D audio. Kuhn's company, Moodbox Gmbh, has worked on projection/mapping projects for Disney, Hugo Boss, and numerous live theatre and dance productions worldwide, including the new Nierka will also be available in the stand.
