Bandit Lites Supports Lighting Designer John Adamo on Gary Clark Jr. Tour

"Bandit obviously has all the high-end gear that you could ever want and has no problem buying new products," he says. "But it's the people and the individuals who make up the company," says Adamo.

Lighting designer John Adamo continues to bring dynamic visual storytelling to audiences nationwide through his work with Grammy Award-winning artist Gary Clark Jr. Supported by Bandit Lites, Adamo has crafted a lighting design that evolves alongside the artist's live performances while maintaining the flexibility required for a demanding touring schedule.

"We are getting ready for our 2026 summer tour. We have a couple of weeks here at the beginning of June, and then we're going to go out heavy in the fall, but this is kind of to update our floor package." Adamo says while programming at Bandit Lites Venue One rehearsal space. "We had pixel curves on the previous runs and Mark helped me change those out to tornadoes -- I never have to settle with Bandit -- Mark is especially always good at helping me get the gear I want."

Known for creating immersive concert experiences, Adamo relies on a collaborative partnership with Bandit Lites to help transform creative concepts into reality. While access to cutting-edge technology remains important, Adamo credits the people behind the equipment as the true differentiator.

"The gear is the gear," says Adamo. "You can rent this gear from anyone all over the country. It's the personal interaction -- everyone is invested in trying to get us the items and gear we need to do our show. I'm very grateful for their hands-on approach to all of that."

Adamo also praises Bandit's commitment to preparation and rehearsal support, noting the company's ability to provide a seamless programming environment.

"I love Bandit's prep standard," he explains. "They offer this beautiful rehearsal space for me to use -- every time I come to rehearsal, I can walk right into a patched rig that's ready, and I can get right to programming."

For Adamo, the partnership extends well beyond equipment rentals.

"Bandit obviously has all the high-end gear that you could ever want and has no problem buying new products," he says. "But it's the people and the individuals who make up the company. They walk with you through the whole journey. They don't just give you a package and say, 'Go have fun.' They're constantly checking in and making sure you have what you need."

Bandit Lites client representative Mark Scherer values the opportunity to support Adamo's creative vision and the Gary Clark Jr. production team.

"It's always an absolute pleasure working with John Adamo and the entire Gary Clark Jr. team," says Scherer. "John continues to find ways to utilize fixtures that keep the show evolving and the design exciting while maintaining the same footprint. I'm grateful to play a small part in the process and have the trust from John to help ensure his designs become reality."
