American DJ Unveils Battery-Powered High-Output Mega Go Bar50 and Mega Go Par64 with RGB LED Color-Mixing

Now designers can create a palette of intensely bright RGB color washes on stages, walls, for uplighting -- anywhere -- without worrying about power connections at events and small productions. American DJ introduces two battery-powered LED color-mixing fixtures, the Mega Go Bar50 and Mega Go Par64, that offer lighting users total freedom from the constraints of cords and plugs.

Powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, the Mega Go Bar50 and Mega Go Par64 will hold their charge and work reliably at full force for eight hours. These compact products can be set up anywhere -- even in places with no electrical outlets. Users don't have to worry about running out of juice, either, because the Mega Go products have a Battery Life Indicator on their rear DMX menu, which makes it easy to see what percentage of the battery charge is remaining.

The Mega Go Bar50 and Mega Go Par64 are bright. Equipped with 10mm LEDs, rated at 50,000 hours, these two cordless units produce an output with RGB colors that match those created by plug-in LED fixtures.

The Mega Go Bar50 is a 2' (0.7m) linear lighting bar that contains 140 x 10mm LEDs (27 red, 60 green, 53 blue).

The Mega Go Par64 is a Par 64-style fixture with 176 x 10mm LEDs (58 red, 60 green, 58 blue).

"Not only do our new Mega Go Bar50 and Mega Go Par64 give you the freedom to 'cut the cord,' they're also much brighter and more powerful than might typically be expected from a battery-powered lighting unit. Most people are amazed at the brightness," said Alfred Gonzales, national sales manager for American DJ. "We didn't want our customers to have to sacrifice performance for the ultimate mobility that a battery-powered fixture offers, which is why we designed the Mega Go series. We also designed in an array of features that today's DJs and mobile entertainers are looking for."

Both fixtures include smooth RGB color mixing (fast or slow color change operation), 32 built-in color macros, an LED pulse and strobe effect, 0-100% electronic dimming, and flicker-free operation. To add to their go-anywhere convenience, both units come with an ADJ LED RC remote controller.

Designed to accommodate a variety of applications, the Mega Go Bar50 and Mega Go Par64 can be run in five operational modes: auto (program run) mode; sound active mode; RGB manual control mode; static color mode; and DMX-512 mode (one-, two-, three-, four-, five-, six-, or seven-DMX channels). They are linkable in multiples via three-pin XLR cable, and feature IEC AC power in/out on the rear to daisy chain power for up to 25 Mega Go Bar50s and 30 Mega Go Par64s.

Weighing just 5lbs./ 2.2kg. each, the Mega Go Bar50 and Mega Go Par64 offer mobility when it comes to transport, too. The Mega Go Bar50 measures 24.75"L x 2.75"W x 3.5"H/ 625 x 65 x 88mm. The Mega Go Par64 is 10.5"L x 10.25"W x 4.5"H/ 262 x 260 x 110mm.
