Entertainment Electrics Now Available on DVD from the Academy of Production Technology

Entertainment Electrics on DVD from Academy of Production Technology

For eight years, ETCP recognized trainer Richard Cadena has offered a three-day class covering much of the content listed in the outline for the ETCP Entertainment Electricians Certification exam. Now the same class is being offered on DVD from the Academy of Production Technology (APT).

The class has helped hundreds of live event production professionals better understand the intricacies of electrical power distribution, electrical safety, and control systems. While the feedback from attendees has been very positive, attending the class typically requires taking time off of work, missing pay, and presenting scheduling conflicts. In many cases, attendees have to travel as well, adding to the cost of attending.

Entertainment Electrics on DVD alleviates much of these issues, allowing participants to work in their spare time in the privacy of their home or office. The DVD has 21 short modules with a video ranging from five minutes to about 15 minutes so that it can easily be self-paced and fit in between other tasks. After each video there are 10 to 20 quiz questions to test your retention and understanding.

"If you have only 10 minutes to spare or if you want to devote an entire evening or an entire day, then you can create a positive impact on your career and on your life," said Cadena, APT founder. "The class is brimming with material, and so is the DVD. In fact, taking the class in a classroom setting is kind of like interfacing your brain directly to a bit torrent. But the DVD makes is easier to consume in digestible chunks, and it soaks in deeper when you are able to absorb at a more reasonable pace."

There is also an optional 125-page workbook that can be purchased a small additional cost. The workbook contains all of the illustrations and diagrams shown in the videos.
