Caroline Jones Opens for Zac Brown Band Backed by Morris Light and Sound

Both Billboard and Rolling Stone have named emerging country artist, Caroline Jones, to their coveted "Artists to Watch" lists. Jones partnered with Morris Light and Sound to design and implement a lighting package worthy of a headlining artist.

In June 2019, Jones embarked on her third straight year of opening for Zac Brown Band. Prior to that, Jones was opening for some of the biggest tours in the business including Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffett, The Eagles, OneRepublic, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Vince Gill. As Jones continued to grow, her team sought out a production company that could support her already blazing momentum.

Openers have a limited amount of time in between set changes, so with that in mind Morris designer Steven Morgan created a rig for her that made the turn around simple and efficient. Steel carts were designed and created in house at Morris to hold the lighting rig and amps that have made transport easy between venues.

"It's important for an artist to be able to have quick set changes in order for the stage manager to be sure the show runs on time. I was able to design Caroline's rig within the carts that our fabrication department created," Morgan says.

The package designed for Jones included Phillips Showline SL Bar 640, Elation Professional Cuepix Blinder WW2, Ayrton Magic Panel, Solaris Flare, Elation Color Chorus 12, and the very versatile Dartz 360. Tour manager Keith Albrizzi is thrilled with contributions Morris has made to their road life.

"From a business and personal standpoint, this has been the best relationship I've had in 29 years simply because Morris brings all of the ancillary services to the table for existing high-profile artists but also for up and coming artists," Albrizzi says.

Morris has executed lighting and sound design for many of the top artists touring today, including Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, and Russell Dickerson.

David Haskell, president and director of business development at Morris, says, "We put the same level of care and creativity into Caroline Jones as we do for Kenny Chesney. Quality of service and commitment to excellence are pillars that we hold to the highest standard."
