Zero 88 at Prolight+Sound 2019

UK lighting control manufacturer and specialist Zero 88 highlights four new multifunctional products at Prolight 2019, on Stand E52 in Hall 12, alongside its German distributor, Ultralite.

These are Betapack 4 -- one product with six dynamic variants; the ZerOS Server -- one product with three different uses; new Data Distribution products -- the first of a complete new range, and the latest ZerOS 7.9.5 software release for all ZerOS consoles.

Zero 88's robust Betapack has served the entertainment and installation industry for 30 years with its legendary reliability, toughness, versatility, and fantastic value for money.

Betapack 4 builds on this heritage and experience with a solution for distributing both dimming and "hot power," so well suited for a mixed rig featuring both tungsten and LED fixtures -- all in one single, affordable device, the company says.

Combining both dimming and "hot power," Betapack 4 will continue to serve the most modern applications in lighting rental, installation, and portable situations for many thousands of venues worldwide. Each 10A channel provides a dimmed /and a "hot power" socket for simple and easy power distribution around any venue or space.

New variants include Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 TOP and a CEE17 / 15a split unit. The versatile design allows the unit to be 19" rack mounted, wall mounted, or portable and there are also a number of carried options to suit all scenarios and environments.

The new ZerOS Server is a slimline 1RU fully featured lighting control system designed for use in performance installations and networks requiring show replay, tracking backup, or architectural system integration.

One product can be used for three primary actions:

Show replay -- it can be a stand-alone or remotely triggered controller for permanent installations such as building facades, landscapes, or theme parks.

Full tracking backup and auto switch-over with the FLX console makes it a great option for any venue or event where full redundancy is required.

The ZerOS Server can also be bridged between performance lighting and architectural lighting, ideal for theatres, conference centers, and other public buildings, the company says.

This flexible software will also be shown with some new key features, including:

Flexible channel allocation -- Allowing fixtures to be patched across 64 universes without wasting unused channels. The FLX console now supports up to 8,192 DMX channels so this is extremely useful.

SETUP - The SETUP has been completely redesigned, bringing speed, simplicity, and many more potent new features, specifically including numerous additional networking options.

"Home" added to FLX S -- FLX S console users can now "Home Fixtures" and adjust each parameter's "Default," "Home," and "Max" values.

More effects -- Several effects upgrades include the addition of "emergency," "warning," "lightning," and "flicker" options among others.

Multiple Desktops -- The FLX & FLX S console ranges can now include four desktops with Remote Monitors for viewing any of these desktops independently to the console's onboard display.

A new Data Distribution range from Zero 88 supports both DMX / RDM and the latest Ethernet protocols.

It is presented in a condensed, affordable "family" with improved features, additional flexibility and complete simplicity. Every product is CE compliant, designed, and manufactured in the UK and comes with a 3-year warranty.

Zero 88's range of FLX lighting consoles -- the FLX S24 and FLX S48 and the original FLX and ZerOS Wing -- will be demonstrated on the action-packed stand, all running the latest ZerOS 7.9.5. console software, together with PLASA Innovation Award-winning "RigSync" an inventive time-saving feature embedded in the latest ZerOS versions.

RigSync keeps the console synchronized with the lighting rig and demystifies the complexities of DMX without the need to understand or think too hard about patching, the company says, allowing console users more time to focus on being imaginative ... while the technical elements sort are automatically calibrated via the console communicating directly with the lighting rig.
